The Platypus GravityWorks Water Filter System 4 L offers a convenient, high-capacity solution for backcountry water purification, ideal for group camping, basecamps, or emergency preparedness. Utilizing gravity for filtration, it eliminates the need for pumping, delivering clean water efficiently. The system includes two reservoirs—one for unfiltered water and one for clean water—connected by a hollow-fiber microfilter that removes 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of protozoa, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium. With a flow rate of up to 1.75 liters per minute, it can filter 4 liters of water in approximately 2.5 minutes. The filter cartridge has a lifespan of up to 1,500 liters and can be easily backflushed in the field to maintain performance.
